What are you supposed to do with your life?

I’m not here to tell you how to live your lives. I’m here to share my experience on the matter, what i think about this society we live in, and the dream I’m pursuing to make the most out of my life. Not for anyone else, but for me, and what i want to create for myself. Hopefully you will find some inspiration and insights from my observations.

In this day and age it is difficult to figure out what you are supposed to do with your life, at least in my experience. This mostly affect the younger generation, but all around something that everyone is pondering. Everyone has their idea of success, and those who “know better” tends to lecture about how to be successful in life. “You need to have education”, “you need to find a steady job”, “you have to save up money so that you can buy a house and settle down”…. And so on. I’m sure you’ve had quite some hours being lectured like this. But who are they to say how you should live your life?

As I have experienced this on my own, I’ve asked myself; “Is he/she happy?”, “Does it seem like he/she is leading a life of fulfillment and joy?” Most of the time the answer is ‘no’. I cannot see any spark of happiness in this person, no passion or any sort of enjoyment in their life. And if so, why should you take their word for it? If you ask me, it’s a lot more important to find yourself. Know who you are and who you are not, knowing what truly makes you happy, what you are passionate about, and most importantly – how you wish to live your life.

In my experience, the people that “know best” live a stagnant life. A life with people they don’t actually enjoy being with, a job that sucks the joy of life straight out, like a vacuum cleaner siphoning smoke. Afraid of leaving their job, because a steady income is necessary to pay for all the expenses. Being stuck in a tug of war between the life they ended up with, and the life they truly desire – heck, most people have it this way. But not all feel it’s their place to lecture about something they have not achieved themselves.

It’s easy to lecture, and say “I told you so”, but that is not coming from compassion and understanding. This is the typical “I’m right and you’re wrong” – conversation. But all experiences are different, and therefore it’s impossible to say what will be the “right” way or the “wrong” way. You can only work with what you get and make the most of it. All the “should haves”, “have to’s”, “could haves”, doesn’t matter, it only brings anxiety and negativity.

The way I’m headed is based upon that I’m not going to be a slave for the government. I’m not going to work my ass off 8-10 hours a day (giving more than half back), in a job I hate, for the rest of my life. No way! Sure, I might find myself in a regular job to save up some money, for a certain amount of time, but I’m not gonna stay there. I choose myself and my happiness, and that’s why I’m here writing to all of you.

Writing is one of my deepest passions, and I wish to create a life where i can do THIS for the rest of my life. Saving up money doing what I love, until I eventually can relocate somewhere warm, spending each day growing my own food, building my property, creating what i need. Being self-sufficient. Getting such traction that I don’t even have to write/work for money every day, just sharing what i want to share, and doing what i want to do. All while I’m getting paid for it! Isn’t that the dream?

I’m not seeing a sustainable future where i work myself to an early grave for the sake of someone else. I don’t feel obligated to contribute to society in the way the government wants. A place where i dont own anything, only have a certain amount of free time to work on myself and those around me, have the same boring routine every single day, at the same time as those in charge don’t give anything in return. No compassion for the working family, and those who struggle to pay the bills. It’s not my desire to contribute to that kind of a system.

Materialism, competition, status, falsity, manipulations, these ways of life does not belong in my world. Get it outta’ my face! I want to create something good in the world. Sharing, connecting, learning, growing. All so that you can help yourselves, and we can help the world. Making it happen through compassion and unity.

At least that’s me. You have to figure it out for yourself, what experience you wish to create. And yes, you do create your life, if you choose to. Thoughts and intentions create actions, and those actions create your world – What is it that you want to birth into this world? Decide for yourself…
